You sit with your pint and talk about justice, the law, social order, and the needs of the city. The Velocipe Squad respond with shrugs, blank looks and a few little guffaws. So, instead, you listen.
When they talk of criminals, the detectives of the Velocipede Squad don't talk about crimes, or detection, or even the law. They talk about knives in the dark, a race of arms, tactics, scars, trophies. War stories. Criminals may as well be a rival clan in the next valley. This isn't a job for them. This is a way of life, an identity. Reform will only come from outside the Squad.
